Busan Diocese & Cathedral

Wed 9 Nov 2022, Day 58/61. Busan is a small diocese & Busan Anglican Cathedral is also small. Unlike the Anglican Church in Seoul, Anglicanism here was started not by British, but Japanese Anglicans. The crucifix I’m wearing was made for me by Bishop Onesimus.

Onesimus, Bishop of Busan

Wed 9 Nov 2022, Day 58/61. A very enjoyable few hours spent with Onesimus, Bishop of Busan, who spent time talking with me about our different situations, took us for lunch & then drove us around some of his diocese.

Busan

Wed 9 Nov 2022, Day 58/61. Busan feels very different from Seoul. Although it’s a busy port & clearly a significant metropolitan area – currently bidding to host Expo 2030 – it feels more relaxed, possibly because of the sea?

Tue 8 Nov 2022, Day 57/61. And so on to Busan, 부산시 – South Korea’s busiest port & second largest city – for my final 3 days in the country. On our way out for dinner & then again on our way back we caught the lunar eclipse.
